Krabi Four Islands: What the Longtail Tour Covers

The four-island tour is the cheapest way to see the limestone scenery Krabi is famous for, and the one most likely to be ruined by timing. The sandbar between three of the islands only exists at low tide.

The four stops

  • Poda — the postcard beach, and the busiest
  • Chicken Island — named for the rock profile, snorkelling off the boat
  • Tup and Mor — joined to Chicken by a sandbar at low tide
  • Phra Nang — the cave beach, cliffs straight out of the water
Limestone cliffs at Railay
Phra Nang sits under the same cliffs as Railay, reachable only by boat.

The tide problem

If you arrive at high tide the sandbar is underwater and the walk between islands does not happen. Operators schedule around it, but schedules slip. Ask what time you reach Tup.

What ฿1,080 covers

Longtail, guide, snorkelling gear, life jackets and hotel pickup in the Ao Nang area. The national park fee is collected separately at the pier — as with every operator.
