Bangkok Rooftop Bars: What to Know Before You Go

Most rooftop lists are paid placements. This is the practical version: what a night actually costs, which areas suit which mood, and the three rules that get people turned away at the lift.

The three rules nobody prints

  • Dress code is enforced at the lift. No vests, no flip-flops, no athletic shorts at the higher-end bars. Carry a light shirt and you are fine.
  • Some charge a cover that is redeemable against drinks — ask before you sit, not after.
  • Rain closes the terrace, not the bar. You pay rooftop prices to sit indoors.

When to go

Arrive between 17:00 and 18:30. You get daylight, the sunset and a seat; by 20:00 the good tables are gone and the lift queue is twenty minutes.
